A journey toward the Castle, first taken up by Kafka's K., continues in this series of installations, video/performances, and photographs. Each medium helps to piece together the hero's journey.
This ongoing project raises questions about a person's quest for a dream, the Castle, and the difficulties surrounding it's borders . On this journey, the hero must re-invent himself to deal with the many struggles and obstacles before him. This self-proclaimed hero is also a dictator of sorts, gaining power through ludicrous inventions and public performance. He speaks to and orders around birds, tramples sand castles, and records the sounds around him. Ultimately, the hero mocks the roots of Fascism and dictatorship. The hero seeks to find and build the Castle in his life. He will destroy it before it is ever complete. |
